The energy use account presents the yearly energy use, in terajoules, of all Belgian residents, regardless of the territory in which the use occurred. The use is presented for 17 different energy vectors by economic activity (NACE Rev.1.1, to 2 digits) and for three household consumption categories (heating, transport, other) over the period 1990-2008. The different energy carriers are coal, peat, lignite, (coal) coke, blast furnace gas and other industrial gases, wood, biomass, waste, natural gas, heavy fuel oil, diesel oil, motor gasoline, LPG, jet fuel and kerosene, other petroleum products, electricity and heat. Furthermore, a time series is presented for energy-intensity, defined as the energy use per unit of value added for industries and per unit of consumption expenditure for households.
