In an effort to be transparent and informative, the Federal Planning Bureau regularly publishes the methods and results of its works. The publications are organized in different series, such as working papers, planning papers and the Short Term Update. [Display/hide the publication's description] Planning & Working PapersThe FPB’s methods and analyses are presented in its planning papers (PP) and working papers (WP). PPs are published in both French and Dutch and have a fairly exhaustive character. WPs are rather technical or specialized and generally only available in the author’s language. Short Term UpdateThe Short Term Update (STU) is the English quarterly newsletter of the FPB. It offers a topical overview of the Belgian economy. Based on dozens of indicators the STU provides either a follow-up of the business cycle or an analysis of the economy’s structural evolution within the framework of the ‘Europe 2020’ strategy. Moreover, each STU looks into a study of the FPB relating to the current economic situation. Finally, this quarterly newsletter offers an overview of research in progress at the FPB and of the main decisions by Belgian authorities which may have an impact on the economic situation. Forecasts & Outlook The short-term and the medium-term forecasts of the Belgian economy are published in the Economic Budget and the Economic Outlook respectively, whereas the medium-term prospects for the world economy are described in the NIME Outlook. Speeches & presentationsSpeeches and discussions by staff members held outside the FPB are also available on the website. OthersPublications of a more specific nature (Federal Report on Sustainable Development, Annual Report of the Study Committee on Ageing) are collected under the tab ‘Others’.
