After his studies in economics at the University of Namur (Belgium), Henri Bogaert started working for the Belgian Federal Planning Bureau as a member of the team in charge of macro-economic analyses and forecasts. More particularly, he specialized in macro-economic modelling. From 1989 to 1990, he participated in the foundation of a private company (ADE) specialized in economic studies. From 1990 to 1992, he was deputy director of the prime minister cabinet. From September 1992 until April 2014, he led the Federal Planning Bureau as Plan Commissioner. On 1 May 2014 Henri Bogaert retired and became honorary Plan Commissioner.
