The Institution

The Federal Planning Bureau (FPB) is an independent public agency. It draws up studies and projections on economic, social and environmental policy issues and on the integration of these policies within a context of sustainable development.

Nicole Fasquelle

Nicole Fasquelle has a master’s degree in economics (Université Libre de Bruxelles - 1988) and a postgraduate degree in econometrics (Vrije Universiteit Brussel - 1989). After working for a few years at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, she began to work at the Belgian Federal Planning Bureau in 1992 where she is currently senior analyst in the “Social protection, demography and prospective studies” team. She mainly works on long-term projections of social expenditure and public finances and on short- and medium-term projections of unemployment allowances. She is also in charge of the secretariat of the Belgian Study Group on Ageing.
