Raphaël Desmet holds a degree in Economics from the University of Liège (1999) and a master’s degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain (2003). He was a researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Economie Publique et de la Population (CREPP) at the University of Liège from 1999 and 2004. He now works as an economist at the Federal Planning Bureau. His fields of research are the analysis of retirement behaviours, microsimulation and the analysis of income distribution. He contributes to the development of the model MIDAS and participates in the reports published by the Study Committee on Ageing.
