Hans Peeters holds a master’s degree in political sciences (KU Leuven, 1999). He has also taken a special course on pension law (KU Leuven, 2006-2007).
From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a researcher and teaching assistant at the Centre for Sociological Research (KU Leuven), where he initially studied first and second pillar pensions using survey data. He subsequently focused on making the Pension Registry accessible. Owing to his experience with administrative data and his knowledge of pension legislation, he became a project leader at Sigedis in 2008, charged with developing a database on second pillar pensions.
Since 2010, he has been working as a researcher at the Centre for Sociological Research (KU Leuven) on a doctoral thesis on the adequacy of the Belgian pension system (finalisation in the autumn of 2015). As a member of the Centre for Sociological Research, he was closely involved in the activities of the 2010-2040 Pension Reform Commission.
Within the Pensions Knowledge Centre, Hans Peeters will contribute to both the development and, in particular, the use of MIDAS. Moreover, he will be closely involved in the processing of the MIDAS databases.
